Core Signals
Every alert is backed by real tournament data and community sentiment — not speculation, not hype.
An archetype is appearing in more top finishes than usual. This signal fires when a deck's tournament share increases significantly over a rolling window.
Example
"Rakdos Grief went from 4% to 11% of Modern top-8s in two weeks."
A specific card is showing up in more sideboards or maindecks across multiple archetypes. Early adoption across top finishers triggers this flag.
Example
"Subtlety moved from 12% to 38% inclusion across all Modern sideboards."
When tournament demand increases faster than supply can adjust, price movement often follows. This signal highlights cards at that inflection point.
Example
"Chalice of the Void usage up 3x in Premodern — historically correlated with a 40%+ price jump."
We monitor Reddit and X for spikes in discussion volume and sentiment around specific cards, decks, and archetypes. Social buzz often precedes tournament results.
Example
"Mentions of Amalia Combo up 280% on r/ModernMagic with 87% positive sentiment."
Methodology
No machine learning hype. Just systematic analysis of tournament results and community signals.
We aggregate top-finishing decklists from leading public tournament databases across Standard, Modern, Pauper, Commander, and Premodern events. New data is ingested weekly.
We track discussion volume and sentiment on Reddit (r/ModernMagic, r/Pauper, r/CompetitiveEDH, etc.) and X in real time. Spikes in positive buzz often precede tournament breakout performances.
Archetype frequency, card inclusion rates, and sideboard patterns are tracked across rolling time windows. We compare current snapshots against historical baselines to detect meaningful shifts — not random variance.
When a trend crosses a defined threshold, DeckPulse generates a clear, human-readable flag: "Deck Rising Fast," "Tech Card Appearing," "Card Likely to Spike," or "Community Sentiment Surging." No ambiguity — just early detection.
Subscribers receive a weekly digest with the most significant signals. No dashboards to check, no feeds to monitor — the insights come to you.
